Hamilton Russell Vineyards, located in the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley of Walker Bay, South Africa, is one of the earliest renowned wineries in the region focusing on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The winery utilizes low yields, a cool maritime climate, and iron-rich Bokkeveld shale clay soils to produce Chardonnay with an Old World character, particularly reminiscent of White Burgundy.

The brand's style never pursues over-ripening or excessive use of new oak barrels, but rather emphasizes tension, savory minerality, natural acidity, and aging potential. The 2025 vintage is particularly balanced, with an alcohol content of approximately 13.5–13.6%, maintaining concentration without being overly heavy.

Greg Sherwood MW awarded 2025 95 points, describing it as an outstanding vintage for Valley, noting its crystallized lemon and lime, salty caramel, green apple, limestone minerality, and lively acidity; the winery describes 2025 as one of the best in nearly 45 years, with low yields but pure and concentrated fruit flavors, and is known for its tight acidity, dry minerality, and fine barrel aging.
