CASK STRENGTH is the very essence of Highland Park and amplifies the key strands of our signature FLAVOUR PROFILE.

"Casks have a huge influence on our whisky as it slowly matures from our fresh new make spirit to

AWARD-WINNING single malt. Both the type of cask and the length of time that the whisky matures in it play their part. For our CASK STRENGTH series, I select and marry casks of different ages, looking for distinctive characteristics that will harmonise beautifully when brought together, to create a whisky for everyone who loves HIGHLAND PARK as much as I do

* Matured predominantly in first-fill, sherry-seasoned European oak casks - including Pedro Ximénez casks - plus refill casks, ex-bourbon casks and a small quantity of first-fill, sherry-seasoned American oak casks, all hand selected by Gordon Motion, our Master Whisky Maker

* The Pedro Ximenez casks delivers distinctive notes of sweet, sun-dried fruits

* Bottled at a combined cask strength to capture the essential DNA of Highland Park and intensify each individual strand of favour

* Non chill-filtered to reveal this whisky in its purest form with a distinctive natural haze

* The whisky's nasturally deep golden, clear and bright colour is driven entirely by our casks, without additives

Tasting Notes

Cask Strength Release No. 5 opens with complex and spicy aromas of dried cloves, fresh oregano, crushed pine needles and lingering wood smoke. Deliciously intense Aavours of sun-dried fruits follow - prunes, dates and sultanas - reflecting the influence of the Pedro Ximénez casks, while the first-fill European oak casks provide aromativ bints of liquorice and winter spices balanced by cocoa nibs and light oak from the ex-boutbon casks. A delightfully fragrant and smoky fnish lingers on notes of sherried fruits and sweet spices.
