IL Poggione Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2018 (RP94)


Brunello is the prince of Montalcino wines, produced exclusively from Sangiovese grapes picked by hand from the oldest vines in the farm.

After a careful fermentation at controlled temperature, Tenuta Il Poggione Brunello di Montalcino is aged in French oak barrels.
After being aged in wood, the wine is bottle aged: this is an essential process in guaranteeing the pleasantness and the complexity that have made the Brunello di Montalcino world-famous.

Exhibiting a deep ruby color and rich, full-bodied fruit, the wine offers aromas of black cherry, blackberry, baking spices, smoky meat, and earthy earth. The palate is firm and powerful, with well-balanced acidity, fine-grained, chewy tannins, and a lingering finish. Critics describe the aroma as captivating, with notes of clove, spices, Alpine forest, and dried mushrooms. Its overall style is both powerful and elegant, making it a perfect pairing with red meats or stews.

Recommended drinking period: 2024 to 2032. The flavor will become more refined and mellow with age.
