Jean Féry

In Echevronne, right between the Côte de Beaune and the Cote de Nuits, or rather, the heart of Burgundy, 'Domaine Jean Fery' was founded in 1922. The foundation for this was already laid in 1860, when Nicolas Jacob bought Féry, a donkey and a small piece of land in the area in question. Wars and natural disasters have passed the country by, but the vineyards have always remained in the family. Today, the domaine is run by Frédéric et Laurent Féry and the cellar by the talented Laurence Danel. After years of experience at domaines in France and abroad, with a long time in Burgundy, Laurance knows everything about the grapes, the terroir and the climate of Burgundy.

The small piece of land and that one donkey of Jacob, has now grown to 32 ha of vines, fully organically certified. Here they make a wide range of Burgundies. As a beautiful reflection of the diversity of the region, this Domaine has a true mosaic of appellations under its management. With different terroirs of a complex mixture of lime, weathered volcanic soil and high iron contents.

Especially in the past 15 years, since the domain switched to an organic approach and minimal intervention in the wine cellar, the quality of the wines has increased enormously. Frédéric et Laurent are therefore continuing where their father Jean-Louis planted the first seeds. Producing high-quality Burgundies, for an affordable price, with attention to the family history and future.
