Description

Kilchoman 100% Islay (4th 2014 Edition)

Kilchoman Distillery was founded in 2005 and is the first distillery to be built on Islay for over 120 years. It is a farm distillery and a proportion of the barley used in production is grown and malted at the distillery

This is the fourth 100% Islay release from Kilchoman and has been produced from barley grown, malted, distilled, matured and bottled at the distillery.

It has been aged for over five years in a combination of fresh and refill bourbon barrels.

Colour: Beech wood.

Nose: Subtle, light smoke, pear drops and citrus fruit.

Palate: Good level of peat, fruitiness and very fresh and clean.

Finish: Long and sweet, smokiness goes on and on. This is exceptional for a relatively young whisky.
