🥃Kilchoman STR Cask Matured Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky (2019 Edition)🥃

Established in 2005, Kilchoman was the first new distillery to be built on Islay in 124 years and is one of the few whisky distilleries in Scotland to remain independent and produce whisky in the traditional way.

A total of 43 STR (shaving, toasted and re-charred) casks were used in 2012 and bottled in 2019.

Limited to 14,500 bottles worldwide.

Aromas of red wine barrels, smoky meat, sweet raspberries, thyme, slightly malty and fruity without being sweet. After the first sip of cream, some vanilla turns to chocolate (bittersweet).

The palate opens with sweet Amarena cherries, blackberry jelly and raspberry syrup. Subsequent charred logs are lightly dry, leather, tobacco notes, dark chocolate and espresso beans, STR treated to balance acidity and dryness, full body.

Red fruit sweetness, dry oak and smoke on the finish, with a pleasant and warm finish. Finally, there is the taste of chocolate and toffee, with a medium and long finish.
