La Petite Odyssée Rouge Furie 2021

La Petite Odyssée Rouge Furie 2021 is a natural red wine by Antoine Bernardin, a young winemaker from southwestern France. Grown in the gravelly soils at the foot of the Pyrenees in the Haute-Garonne department, it's a blend of Abouriou (a rare local grape), Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon, all organically and biodynamically grown, showcasing a balance of power and elegance.

Antoine graduated with a degree in oenology and founded his small 8-hectare winery in 2019. He insists on minimal intervention in winemaking, preserving the purity of the terroir. Grapes are hand-harvested, and natural yeasts are used, making it a representative of the new generation of natural wines from southern France.

Deep ruby red, the aroma bursts with blackberry, red and black fruit, violet, pomegranate, and floral notes, with hints of black pepper and cinnamon. The palate is velvety and full-bodied, rich in juice with bright acidity and fine tannins. The finish is complex, persistent, and minerally salty, powerful yet elegantly approachable.

Perfectly paired with lacquered duck, aged cheese, charcoal-grilled meat platter, or game. Best enjoyed after decanting for 1 hour. High cost-performance ratio, suitable for beginners in natural red wine or for content creation and recommendation.
