Lou Dumont Bourgogne Rouge Bio “Dessus–Dessous” 2023 is an organic Burgundy red wine from Lou Dumont, a Burgundy winery owned by Japanese winemaker Koji Nakada. It features an elegant and delicate style, prominent red fruit notes, and refreshing acidity, making it an easy-drinking yet distinctive Bourgogne Rouge.

Region: Burgundy, France (Bourgogne Rouge AOC), an entry-level appellation, but Lou Dumont is renowned for its high-quality grape selection and long oak barrel aging.

Winemaker/Winery: Maison Lou Dumont, founded by Japanese entrepreneurs Koji Nakada and his wife Park Jae-Hwa, is known for its clean, elegant wines with a touch of Japanese sophistication.

Grape Variety: 100% Pinot Noir, organically grown (Bio), emphasizing naturalness and terroir expression.

"Dessus–Dessous": This term is generally used to describe a blend of grapes from different plots or slopes (upper/lower). It is often used to discuss terroir differences, layering, and structure. This type of cuvée usually aims to balance structure and elegance through different plots. (The concept comes from Burgundy plot naming conventions and Lou Dumont's practice of blending plots.)
