Our reputation for the extraordinary is characterised by the exceptional oak casks for which The Macallan is renowned. In the unwavering pursuit of excellence, these casks are sourced, crafted, toasted and seasoned to the demanding specifications of the Whisky Mastery Team.

It is the oak that makes the greatest contribution to the quality, natural colours, distinct aromas and flavours at the heart of this single malt whisky.

The Macallan Classic Cut has been created to showcase the role of ex-bourbon American oak casks in The Macallan's profile. The Macallan Whisky Mastery Team has created this expression which perfectly complements the sweet lightness brought by ex-bourbon casks with the depth and complexity of The Macallan's sherry seasoned oak casks.

WHISKY MAKER'S NOTES

Colour: Golden barley.

Aroma: Elegant fragrance of pears and elderflower with light almond notes and rich vanilla pod.

Palate: Sweet and creamy vanilla, juicy pears and lemon peel with delicate oak.

Finish: Medium with sweet oak and almond biscotti.
