Marchesi Antinori Tignanello Toscana IGT 2020 is a classic "Super Tuscan" red wine, predominantly Sangiovese with small blends of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, exhibiting a rich yet refined style.

Tignanello comes from Antinori's Tenuta Tignanello winery and is one of Tuscan's most iconic wines. Its importance stems from its pioneering role in modern Italian wine history, having been aged in small oak barrels from an early period and establishing its own style outside the Chianti tradition.

The 2020 vintage presents a deep ruby to purplish-red color with a highly complex aroma, commonly featuring red cherry, strawberry,

pomegranate, blackberry, and floral notes.

Further development reveals details of vanilla, cocoa, coffee, licorice, spices, and Mediterranean herbs.

Palmistry: The palate is typically described as well-structured, concentrated fruit, silky yet powerful tannins, and vibrant acidity.

The finish carries notes of spice, smoky coffee, cocoa, and herbs, with a long overall finish.

Brewing and Blending: Public information shows that the typical blend ratio for the 2020 vintage was approximately 80% Sangiovese, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% Cabernet Franc, aged for about 14 months.

While there are slight variations in the proportions across different retail pages, the overall theme remains consistent: combining the acidity and vibrancy of Sangiovese with the structure and depth provided by the Cabernet series.
