Description

Marie Courtin Résonance

Marie Courtin Résonance is a Blanc de Noirs Extra Brut Champagne from the Côte des Bar in southern Champagne. The house is led by Dominique Moreau, who took over her family’s estate in Polisot in 2007 and has become one of Champagne’s most celebrated biodynamic and zero-sulphite producers. The name “Résonance” refers to the balancing energies of earth and sky that affect the creation of a wine from its surrounding terroir.

Vinification & Style
Made from 100% Pinot Noir from old vines (around 40+ years) in Polisot, grown on Kimmeridgean marl soils. The wine is fermented in stainless steel and aged sur lattes for 24–36 months before bottling. It is bottled without dosage, classifying it as Extra Brut / Zero Dosage. The style is racy, mineral-driven and energetic, with a focus on purity, tension and terroir expression.

Tasting Notes
Colour: Pale lemon yellow with fine, persistent bubbles.
Nose: Toast, chalk, almonds, Fiji apple, darker citrus, with floral, sage, mint and white pepper overtones.
Palate: Bright citrus, crushed rocks, mint, jasmine and white pepper, with faint strawberry-almond and chalky minerality. Very dry, with lots of mineral character and medium+ to high acidity. Light to medium-light bodied, with a buzzing, limestone base.
Finish: Focused, taut and lingering, with a trace of raspberry or citrus on the finish.

Serving & Pairing
Decanting: No decanting required; open 10–15 minutes before serving.
Serving temperature: 8–10°C.
Food pairing: Oysters, raw bar, sushi, sashimi, grilled seafood, delicate fish dishes, roast chicken, soft cheeses such as Brie or Chaource, and light appetizers. Also pairs well with creamy lobster preparations and Japanese food.

Drinking Window
Enjoy from now through approximately 2028–2032. With bottle age, the wine should develop more honeyed, nutty, brioche and mineral complexity while retaining freshness and energy.

Type: Sparkling Wine (Blanc de Noirs, Extra Brut / Zero Dosage)
Grape: 100% Pinot Noir
