Marqués de Riscal Reserva 2021 is a typical and consistent Rioja Reserva: predominantly Tempranillo with a touch of Graciano, its style is characterized by red and black fruit, licorice, cinnamon, black pepper, and delicate oak notes, exhibiting an overall elegant, balanced, and easy-drinking character.

Production Process: This wine primarily comes from old-vine Tempranillo in Rioja Alavesa, with grapes mostly planted before 1970, and is grown in clay-limestone soils.

Fermentation is carried out under controlled temperature, with maceration typically lasting no more than 12 days; it is then aged in American oak barrels for approximately 20 months, followed by at least one year of bottle aging before release.

Flavor Profile: The color is typically a deep black cherry or deep ruby red, with almost no visible signs of aging.

The aromas typically feature licorice, cinnamon, black pepper, black plum, vanilla, coconut, cocoa, and a hint of toastiness; on the palate, it offers refreshing acidity, fine tannins, a well-structured character, and a gentle balsamic and spicy finish.
