Michel Bouzereau et Fils Bourgogne Côte d'Or Clos du Moulin 2019 is a hidden gem in Meursault, a "pseudo-Premier Cru" white wine from the winery's own exclusive vineyards. It boasts intense fruit aromas with mineral tension, offering exceptional value.

Michel Bouzereau et Fils is a traditionally renowned Meursault producer. Under Jean-Baptiste Bouzereau's management, the focus has shifted towards biodynamics. Clos du Moulin, located between Chevalières and Petits Charrons, features 40-year-old Chardonnay vines, making it a "Meursault of Bourgogne quality."

The warm 2019 vintage resulted in full-bodied fruit. With an alcohol content of approximately 14.1%, it was aged for 12 months in aged barrels and 4 months in stainless steel tanks, exhibiting:

Aromas: White flowers, bergamot, vanilla, almond, pear, peach, with subtle spice.

Palate: Medium-full body, with notes of ripe plum, yellow peach pulp, and creamy nuts; bright acidity supported by a salty, savory minerality.

Finish: Long and stimulating, with notes of ginger, pepper, grapefruit peel, and a stoney quality; very vibrant.

This wine possesses the richness of Meursault (fruit, nuts, and micro-oxidative flavors) plus the minerality of Chablis. French wine critics have described it as "beyond Bourgogne, at an affordable price," with aging potential of 8-12 years. It is already well-rounded and appealing when enjoyed now.
