Moet & Chandon Grand Vintage 2015

Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage 2015 is a vintage Extra Brut Champagne from the house of Moët & Chandon, the largest and most famous Champagne producer in Épernay. The 2015 release is the 76th vintage in the house’s history, made only in exceptional years to express the unique character of that growing season.

Vinification & Style
The blend is 44% Pinot Noir, 32% Chardonnay and 24% Meunier, reflecting a warm, solar vintage marked by tension, heat and uncertainty in the vineyard. The wine was aged in Moët & Chandon’s extensive chalk cellars for 6 years, then rested on cork for at least 6 months after disgorgement. Dosage is 5 g/L, classifying it as Extra Brut. The style is direct and enveloping, combining ripe fruit and floral elegance with a slightly sappy, almond-bitter finish.

Tasting Notes
Colour: Pale gold with fine, persistent bubbles.
Nose: Breadcrumbs, fresh brioche, almond paste, elderflower, jasmine, white peach, watermelon and subtle garrigue herbs at dawn.
Palate: Generous, ample and supple structure, with floral, aniseed and mentholated nuances bringing lightness and freshness despite the warm vintage. The attack is direct and confident, with ripe fruit, fine mousse and balanced acidity.
Finish: Persistent, with a delicate bitterness evoking fresh almonds, cotton flower, elderflower and jasmine.

Serving & Pairing
Decanting: No decanting required; serve well-chilled.
Serving temperature: 8–10°C.
Food pairing: Oysters, raw bar, grilled seafood, delicate fish dishes, roast chicken, sushi, sashimi, soft cheeses such as Brie or Chaource, and light appetizers. Also suitable as an aperitif or with subtly sweet desserts.

Drinking Window
Enjoy from now through approximately 2030–2035. With bottle age, the wine should develop more brioche, honey, dried fruit and nutty complexity while retaining freshness.
