Mortlach Neverbound Release 01


Mortlach Neverbound Release 01 is the inaugural bottling in Mortlach’s new “Neverbound” annual limited-edition series from the legendary Dufftown distillery.

Built on Mortlach’s signature 2.81 distillation, it is first matured in refill American oak casks, then finished in new French oak casks that have been air-dried for around four years in the Cognac region, lifting Mortlach’s traditionally dense, meaty character into a new dimension of savoury depth and spicy complexity.

Nose
Bright, expressive red fruit aromas over a rich, concentrated core. Subtle hints of soy-like savoury notes and smoked meat intertwine with soft, well-integrated woody spice, giving an elegant, well-balanced impression.

Palate
The entry is full and sweet, with smooth demerara-like brown sugar, then layers of spice build gradually into a complex, powerful meaty profile with a distinctly untamed, savoury character.

Finish
Long and intense, where spice and umami intertwine, leaving a deep, lingering savoury imprint.
