Many will be familiar with our highly regarded 2015 and 2017 Loch Lomond releases, matured small bourbon barrels from Koval Chicago. Now, just over two years later, we reintroduce an enhanced expression of this spit.

sweeter spirit. Single grain whisky is enjoying a renaissance, being re-evaluated and appreciated by whisky aficionados.

Story

It is a happy accident of history that back in the 18th Century it was discovered that scotch whisky was greatly improved when stored in oak barrels which had previously held wine and sherry . Today Murray McDavid continues to honour this long established tradition by matyring its whisky in avariety of casks that have been used to produce other fine spirits and wines .

We source sherry casks from the bodegas of spain, fortified wine casks from Maderia, port pipes from Portugal and a wide selection of wine barriques from Europe's finest vineyards. We also seek out barrels from the rum distilleries of the Caribbean and the bourbon makers of the United States. All of our casks are used to give Murray McDavid's whisky its unique qualities and diverse styles allowing us to offer a comprehensive range of inspired scotch whisky.
