Taketsuru is named after the company's founder Masataka Taketsuru as a product name to commemorate his passion and contribution to whisky.

"Taketsuru" is blended with malt whisky aged for a long time at Yoichi Distillery and Miyagikyo Distillery

Highly acclaimed/awarded whisky (WAWA World's Best Blended Malt Whisky 2010), now discontinued

NIKKA owns two distilleries, Yoichi and Miyagikyo, each brewing whisky made from barley malt

Produces 4 different brands of whisky including Yoichi, Taketsuru, Miyagikyo and Nikka

Masataka Taketsuru, the founder of Nikka Whisky Distilling Co., Ltd., can be said to be the father of Japanese whisky [the first Japanese to go to Scotland to learn how to brew whisky]

Assisted Suntory in building the first Yamazaki distillery in 1924, and established the Yoichi distillery in Yoichi, Hokkaido, Japan in 1934

Celebrating 80 years of Nikka whisky Launched in 2014, 1940 Designed by Masataka Taketsuru with glorious gold crest and asymmetrical bottle traditional design inspired by "kimono"
