Shu Yamamoto 山本修 Meowseum 猫美術館 - 貓納麗莎

"Introduction to Meowseum Cat Museum":
Artist Shu Yamamoto was born in Yokohama, Japan in 1948. He graduated from Aichi Prefectural University of Arts and currently lives in Utah, USA, with his family. In 2007, he accidentally saw his son imitating Van Gogh's self-portrait, but the painting was not Van Gogh but the face of a cat. As a cat lover, he was inspired to use this as an opportunity to paint two of his favorite paintings. Elements - "cat" and "art" are combined into creative elements, and the world's famous paintings begin to be fully "meow-ified". From ancient Egypt, the Greek era, the Renaissance, realism, surrealism, Asian art... So far, he has accumulated more than 500 cat-like works, including oil paintings, watercolors, sketches, electronic paintings and other media , in addition to retaining the characteristics of each art genre, he also adds the world view of cats. Looking at his works one after another, it is like being taught a lesson in the art history of cats! Therefore, "Cat Art Museum" became the theme name of this series of works exhibited all over the world.

THE WHISKYFIND is an emerging independent whisky bottler in Asia. In 2016, it became internationally famous for its "Classic of Mountains and Seas" series of whiskys. Following the launch of "Zheng Wen Three Kingdoms" in 2018, it once again cooperated with world-class artist Osamu Yamamoto to use whisky to interpret a story. Each of the world-famous paintings transformed into meows, this cross-border cooperation project is "Meowseum Cat Museum Collection Whisky"!

Mewna Lisa (Cat)

Original Artwork: La Gioconda/Monna Lisa
The world-famous painting "Mona Lisa" is a masterpiece by the renowned Italian Renaissance painter Leonardo da Vinci. Da Vinci employed a technique called "sfumato," where layers of transparent oil paint are applied to a clean canvas, gradually blurring the lines between light and shadow, subtly merging light and shadow, and blurring outlines and frames, allowing the figure to emerge softly. This technique is considered a precursor to naturalism and holds a significant place in art history. The original painting depicts a woman with a reserved expression and a slight smile, blending into the distant background, exuding a mysterious and dreamlike atmosphere.

This one of the world's most valuable paintings, after being transformed into a cat by Osamu Yamamoto, transforms the original Mona Lisa into a carefree cat lady, displaying an elegant and serene posture amidst the pastoral scenery under soft, tranquil light. To showcase this masterpiece, we specially selected Auchentoshan, a triple-distilled spirit. Its pure body is like a clean canvas, allowing the flavors to slowly build up layer by layer, like a wash painting, creating delicate complexity and a velvety smooth texture.

Aroma: A vibrant yet delicate floral and fruity aroma, nectar, tropical fruit, grapefruit, apricot, orange blossom, salted butter, herbal coolness, a slight waxiness, and an elegant, rounded style.

Palmistry: A warm, smooth, and sweet floral and fruity flavor, with a rich, fruity texture, a light and silky feel, and the maturity of aged spirit.

Finish: Grapefruit, nectar, salted cheese, salted butter, warm fruitiness, fruit syrup, excellent clarity, creaminess, waxiness, and a rich chewiness.
