Winery Background

The Standish Wine Company, founded by winemaker Dan Standish, is located in South Australia's Barossa Valley and is renowned for its extremely low-yield, single-vineyard, whole-cluster fermentation Shiraz that emphasizes the character of the terroir. The winery releases only a limited number of wines each year, including The Standish, The Relic, Schubert Theorem, and Lamella; among the new generation of Barossa producers, Standish is considered one of the most representative.

Lambella comes from the Angas family's Hutton Vale Farm, located in the higher-altitude, cooler Eden Valley. The vines are derived from cuttings from Henschke Mount Edelstone, and this is typically the latest-harvested Shiraz in the Standish range, contributing distinct blueberry, floral, iron mineral, and white pepper character.

Tasting Notes
The aromas are highly distinctive: jasmine tea, Earl Grey tea, bergamot, raspberry, blackberry, black cherry, mulberry, blueberry, violet, graphite, ink, black olive, star anise, and gunpowder minerality. The full-chain fermentation process brings out floral, tea-like, and delicate stem and stalk spices, but without overpowering the fruit flavors.
