Starward Fortis Single Malt Whisky (Old Label)

Starward Fortis is a big, bold Australian single malt whisky matured entirely in American oak casks.

American oak barrels were once the birthplace of Australian red wine. After maturation, Fortis is bottled at 50% ABV.

It's also bottled without chill filtration. This is wonderful stuff, perfect for drinking neat, but flavorful enough to stand up to use in a variety of cocktails.

Aroma: Strawberry, blackcurrant jam, a hint of chocolate, hazelnut, gingerbread.

Palate: Figs, dates, peanut brittle, light toasty oak and more jammy red berry fruit.

Finish: Earthy notes of vanilla pod linger on the palate, with blackberry and Seville oranges playing a supporting role.
