Description
🇯🇵 Suntory Royal 12 Years Aged Brown Label 🥃
This is the original Suntory Royal, bottled to commemorate the company's 60th anniversary in 1959.
Originally released in the 1960s to celebrate Suntory's 60th anniversary, this bottle was recently produced at the Yamazaki Distillery.
Suntory, one of the founders of Japanese whisky, was founded in Osaka in 1899 by Shinjiro Torii as a wine store. The venture was so successful that the company changed its name to Kotobukiya in 1921 and built its first brewery, Yamazaki, three years later. The distillery produces the company's blended malt and grain whiskys and launched the first Suntory White Label whisky in 1929, and the resulting popularity caused the company to change its name after 1963. Over the next decade, the company shifted its grain production to the newly built Chita Distillery in 1972, and a second malt distillery, Hakushu, opened the following year. Today, Suntory has large stakes in both the bourbon and Scotch industries, but remains at the forefront of its home-grown whisky market.
Part of the charm of aged Cognac is its age, therefore the condition of the labels and bottles will not be perfect and may vary from one bottle to another. Most old wines use corks. This semi-permeable cork wood is flexible, but after decades of contact with wine it becomes brittle and easily breaks. It can be slowly turned out using an "Ah So" bottle opener.
