Description

Thomas Morey is a winemaker based in the village of Chassagne-Montrachet and son of the legendary Bernard Morey, who retired in 2005. The domaine produces primarily white Burgundy, although its portfolio also includes several Pinot Noirs. This village-level Chassagne-Montrachet comes from a single parcel of vines situated at the northern end of the commune, bordering the Puligny-Montrachet appellation. is rich and ripe, with a pronounced minerality and long finish.

Medium straw yellow. Bouquet is reminiscent of green and yellow plums, Meyer lemons, green pears, white flowers and herbs. Immensely elegant, silky and slightly nutty with white as well as yellow fleshy fruit, some citrus and herbs. The wine appears ripe and round, the texture silky and fine, but at the same time has a good grip. It offers a lot of nobility and a nice depth, but proves to be immensely drinkable in its combination of silkiness, freshness, fine minerality and nuttiness.
