Xavier Vignon is a man of many talents and interests, specializing in creating and executing his own beliefs. He spent a lot of time in the Champagne region, learning the art of blending under mentors such as Dominique Foulon and Richard Geoffroy of Moët & Chandon. Also worked in many other wine regions in France and Australia. With his vast experience and knowledge, Xavier Vignon constantly explores new ways to reveal the aspects of his cherished grape varieties and terroir, bold and innovative blends, single and multi-vintage cuvées, original and creative aging techniques of his own Inventions like The Vinarium® and Wine Globes.

The Turkish Barbare Vineyard was born in 2000 on the coastline of the Marmara Sea in the Thrace region of Turkey, using organic and biodynamic methods to thrive in a climate conducive to grape growing.

The name Barbaros pays homage to the neighboring village of Barbaros.
Xavier Vignon has been involved with the winery since its inception, working closely with its founder Can Topsakal. As a friend and consulting winemaker, Xavier still visits the estate several times a year to accompany the team through the vinification process.

The XL Premier vintage is the result of this joint effort.
The style comes from the Mediterranean coast of Turkey. It exudes blackberry, floral, leather and spice aromas. It has a complex taste, elegant body and fine tannins. Châteauneuf-du-Pape style made in Türkiye!
