Background and Rarity

Yamazaki is Suntory's first malt whisky distillery and its flagship brand of Japanese whisky. Yamazaki 25 Year Old is one of the brand's highest-ranking regular whiskies, 
renowned for its long aging process, rare original spirits, and complex blend.

Mizunara casks account for less than 1% of Suntory's total casks, making them extremely precious. Yamazaki 25 Year Old combines the dried fruit sweetness of sherry casks with the sandalwood, 
herbal, and woody aromas of Mizunara casks, creating a unique and profound style of Japanese whisky.

Flavor Characteristics

Color: Deep amber with a coppery sheen.

Aroma: Mizunara sandalwood, incense, plum, persimmon, raisins, fig, caramel, leather, and aged sherry fruit notes.

Palmistry: Rich and oily, with layers of dark chocolate, candied fruit, caramel, black tea tannins, cinnamon, ginger, nuts, and citrus.

Finishing notes: Long and woody, with lingering notes of Mizunara sandalwood, slightly sweet woods, spices, and a hint of dryness.

Suntory describes it as "the pinnacle of Mizunara barrel aging," delivering a shrine-like aroma of incense, ancient herbs, and deep woody notes.
